Education:
Professor Jani E. Maurer joined the full-time faculty in 1986. Her teaching responsibilities regularly include the first-year Legal Research and Writing course. Professor Maurer previously served as Acting Director of the Lawyering Skills and Values Program, the predecessor to the Legal Research and Writing Program. Upper-class courses taught by Professor Maurer include Wills and Trusts, Income Tax, Probate Workshop, and Judicial Administration. In addition to serving on committees at the College of Law and the University, in prior years Professor Maurer served on the Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and as a member and then chair of a Palm Beach County Grievance Committee. In 2022 the professor represents the College of Law on the LWI One Day Workshop Committee. For over thirty years Professor Maurer has been a member, director, and law school liaison to the Craig S. Barnard Inn of Court in Palm Beach County, Florida, where she facilitates admission of law students to the Inn and strives to assure that the students enjoy a rewarding experience. During the 2016-17 academic year, Professor Maurer coached the tax moot court team for the College of Law.
