Thomas Glick of The Center for Conflict Resolution in Miami co-presented “The Scrivener’s Role: Preparing An Enforceable Mediation Agreement” at the 2018 Professional Mediation Institute Conference in Orlando.

1980

Dan Cytryn’s Amicus brief is quoted in a concurring opinion, "With our decision today, we reaffirm that Frye, not Daubert, is the appropriate test in Florida courts." Delisle v. Crane Co., 2018 Fla. LEXIS 1883 (at *23)(Oct. 15, 2018)

1992

Gregory Chaires is the current Chair of the Florida Bar Health Law Section. He practices in Altamonte Springs at Chaires, Brooderson & Guerrero, P.L. He has been Board Certified in health law by the Florida Bar since 2001. Gregory was featured in the Fall 2018 Issue of the Florida Bar Health Law Section newsletter in an interview that highlights members of the Health Law Section. 1993

The Honorable Alan Apte was elected in August as Secretary of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges. Judge Apte serves as a Circuit Court Judge in the Family Division for the 9th Judicial Circuit in Orange County, Florida. He was first elected to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in 2002. Over the course of his career he has served in both Orange and Osceola Counties in the Juvenile, Criminal, and Unified Family Court, Domestic Violence, and Violation of Probation, and Family Divisions. He is currently assigned to the Orange County Domestic Relations Division.

1995

Gary Brown has rejoined the Fort Lauderdale office of Kelley Kronenberg as a Partner and Head of the firm’s construction practice. Brown is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law and focuses his practice on complex commercial and general business litigation. Brown is actively involved with The Florida Bar as a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section’s Construction Law Committee.

2005

Florencia (Flo) Engle has joined the firm of Straus & Associates in Weston and Pembroke Pines. Her practice is focused on real property litigation.

2006

Jennifer Diaz of Diaz Trade Consulting moderated ‘Global Volatility & Risk: The Imperative for Supply Chain Agility Powered by AWESOME (Advancing Women’s Supply Chain Leadership)’, at the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals Edge Supply Chain Conference and Exhibition in Nashville. She also presented a webinar titled “Trade-Based Money Laundering & CTPAT” in September.

2007

Jared Monahan has joined the Department of Children and Families/Children’s Legal Services in Sarasota as a senior attorney.

2008

Joshua B. Alper has joined Morgan & Morgan business trial group as a partner in Miami focusing on complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy law.

2009

Marcus Susen, partner with Koch Parafinczuk Wolf Susen and lead counsel for the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for Essure, presented at Mass Torts Made Perfect in Las Vegas at a panel titled “Essure discontinued: Where do we go from here?”. Susen is board certified in Civil Trial Law.

2010

Patyl A. Oflazian has joined Talenfeld Law. Oflazian joins the firm as a senior associate and will focus her practice on sexual abuse, wrongful death, foster care and disabled person’s damages, civil rights, personal injury, and child welfare litigation.

2011

Lisa Kohring has published an article titled Scotus Delivers Opinion in Favor of Baker but not for any of the obvious reasons in the October 2018 issue of the Palm Beach Bar Association Bar Bulletin. Lindsey Ryder has joined the Fort Lauderdale office of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman in the labor and employment practice group in Ft. Lauderdale.

2012

Nikeisha Pryor, attorney with Haliczer, Pettis & Schwamm has been elected to the 2018-2019 Executive Board for the Caribbean Bar Association (CBA). Pryor was sworn in at the CBA’s 22nd annual Scholarship and Awards Gala on October 13th. Pryor previously served as the Vice President of the Caribbean Bar Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association. She is an active member of the TJ Reddick Bar Association.

2014

Ruby G. Patel has joined The Reid Law Group in Boca Raton focusing on marital and family law.

2016

James Paul has joined the Fort Lauderdale office of Shutts & Bowen LLP as an associate. Paul assists in their Business Litigation department.

Eric Yesner has joined the West Palm Beach office of Kelley Kronenberg as an Attorney. Yesner assists in handling matters related to complex Business and Commercial Litigation as well as Appeals. Prior to joining Kelley Kronenberg, Yesner was a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Jeffrey T. Kuntz in the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal.

2017

Kristine T. DeSoiza of Fowler White Burnett co-wrote “Currently Taking All Bets on The Future of Florida’s Sports Betting.” It was published in the September issue of the Broward County Bar Association’s Barrister and can be found on page 13.

William “Trace” Norvell have joined The Reid Law Group in Boca Raton focusing on marital and family law.

2018

Claudia Cuador has joined Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell’s Miami office as a new associate. She practices in the areas of aviation litigation and casualty defense in state and federal courts.

In Memorium

1989

Alexander Clark (Ralph Alexander Clark) has passed away. A memorial was held on October 13, 2018. Alex taught as an adjunct professor at NSU Law for many years. The memorial service was attended by many of his classmates, professors, and the students he had taught.

2006

Cristy Lyn Caserta, age 38, of Fort Lauderdale, passed away on October 4, 2018. Cristy practiced law for the last 12 years as a partner at Salpeter and Gitkin, LLP and most recently as corporate counsel at MedPro Healthcare Staffing. Cristy lived life to its fullest. Donations may be given to METAvivor in support of her dear friends, Carly and Iris, who were touched by breast cancer.
