Education:
Roma Perez is a Professor of Law at the Shepard Broad College of Law, Nova Southeastern University. Professor Perez joined the College of Law in 2005. She teaches Bankruptcy Law and Lawyering Skills and Values I & II. She also teaches Legal Research and Methods in the Masters of Health Law Program and Masters of Employment Law Program. Before joining the faculty at the College of Law, Professor Perez worked as an associate in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP., where she worked on several complex corporate bankruptcy reorganization cases. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Miami in 1999 graduating magna cum laude and receiving general and departmental honors. She received her J.D. in 2003 from the University of Miami School of Law graduating magna cum laude and a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif. Professor Perez was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2003. She is a member of several professional associations including the American Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
