Adjunct Professor Ramirez is employed by the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, Texas. She currently serves as Senior Managing Director for the Strategic Initiatives department. She currently serves as a compliance officer, with oversight of contracting, audit, credentialing, and risk management. Ms. Ramirez also serves as an adjunct professor for upper-level law courses as the M.D. Anderson Public Service Professor. Instruction has included compliance, correctional, medical, and mental health care law, and telehealth.
In addition, Adjunct Professor Ramirez is experienced in conflict resolution. She serves as a mediator with the Lubbock County Office of Dispute Resolution and Domestic Relations. Her mediations include juvenile, minor, adult criminal, civil, and family assignments. Ms. Ramirez also conducts adoption evaluations and best interest assessments and serves as a parent facilitator as assigned.
Ms. Ramirez is Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC) and Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHPC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). She is also a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) from the National Commission of Correctional Health Care and is a Certified Health Services Administrator (CHSA) from the American Correctional Association (ACA). She also completed a certification in health law and science in conjunction with her law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law. Her previous professional experience includes non-profit operations and administration. In her spare time, Ms. Ramirez enjoys volunteering and is an avid sports fan. She also spends her leisure time gardening, enjoying music, and reading. She has been the recipient of various honors, including the TTUHSC Quality Team Award, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce 20 Under 40 Award, and State Program Director of the Year.
